Star Lab Awarded DARPA Pyxis Contract

Star Lab, a leading provider of embedded security solutions for complex systems, announced today that it was awarded a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) research and development contract. Under the terms of the Pyxis (a Scientific Analysis of IT Security) contract, Star Lab will research current deficiencies in the measurability of cyber security. As part of the investigation, Star Lab will evaluate multi-layered system configurations with respect to both security effectiveness and end-user usability over time. The end goal of this effort is to create a scientifically sound assessment framework for measuring complex security configurations, including a quantification of the relationship between security, usability, and time.

Star Lab is an industry leader in software protection, anti-tamper, and secure embedded virtualization products for safety-critical and mission-critical systems. Researchers at Star Lab are developing the next generation of embedded security technologies for IoT, Industrial Internet, and autonomous computing systems. Star Lab is headquartered in Washington, DC.
